Time for our third special guest comedian announcement for the 2010 Bend Comedy Competition, coming April 14-17, 2010.

National headlining comedian Morgan Preston will be appearing to perform at the stand-up comedy competition that pits 16 stand-up comics against eachother to fight it out on stage for the top prize.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been announcing a special guest line-up that would rival any other comedy competition in the country. So far the list includes “King of Queens” Jimmy Shubert, from “My Name is Earl” Billy Gardell, and now the brilliant Morgan Preston.

Preston, who’s been on the comedic mic for over 22 years, recently returned from his national comedy tour “Weapon’s Grade Cynisism.” (more…)

Announcing the 2010 Bend Intl Comedy Competition

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Last year's Bend Comedy Competition. And you missed it...

Last year's finalists and BCC producers at the Tower

This is it. The big show.

I’m excited to announce the 2010 Bend International Comedy Competition, April 14-17, 2010. We’re bringing in 16 national headlining comedians from all over the country to compete in what could be one of the biggest standup comedy competitions West of the Mississippi.

Last year’s event was amazing, but this year we’ve topped ourselves. The BCC is an invitational competition and we’ve picked heavy-hitting headliners you’d have to fly to LA to see. Remember the comedians at last year’s competition? Yeah. More of that, but different comics.

We’ve also added a twist to this year’s event.  (more…)

The judges for the evening were KOHD News’ Jay Frank, KQAK morning DJ Jeffrey Brian Nelson, and attorney Tim Williams of Dwyer, Williams, Potter LLP.

The Final Four, which included comedians Todd Johnson, Justin Rupple, Brad Brake, and Russell Parker, each had to perform their 18 minute sets in front of a crowd of about 300. (more…)
