Our first special guest announcement is a big one.

Comedian/actor Jimmy Shubert will be a special guest at the Bend International Comedy Competition, April 14th-17th, 2010. The BCC is a four day stand-up comedy competition featuring 16 national touring, headliner comedians battling it out for the top prize.

Shubert has been seen all over TV and movies as well as touring nationally as a stand-up comedian. Many remember Shubert for his role in the movie ‘Go’ where he played the lolli-pop sucking stripclub bouncer. He was also a recurring character, ‘Jimmy,’ on “King of Queens.” He has a half-hour special on Comedy Central as well as a million other commercials and side projects.

Shubert will be performing live during the competition, which is being held this year at 900 Wall for the first two preliminary events, and at the Tower Theatre for the semis and finals. He is the first of many special guests we will be announcing in the coming weeks that will be performing guest sets during the competition.

Of all the comedians that we’ve ever worked with, this guy is one of my favorites. His story-telling style of standup along with face-contorting, rough delivery makes for comedy gold.
